At the recent Chicago Bliss practice, we caught up with Dominique "DC" Collins. In addition to the usual football talk, DC gave us her thoughts on fun stuff in the Chicago Summer.
This is just one of the reasons I love DC. I have written many times that she was the first onfield Bliss interview we ever did. She is one of the most focused dedicated players I have seen in any sport. Every season I say she is playing her best football and then she comes back the next season and seems even better. You could not ask for more out of a player in any sport.
Besides the football though, DC is a lot of fun. She goes along with our interviews and gives us thoughtful answers, even if our questions are sometimes silly. She is a great sport all around.
DC is the perfect example of the LFL players. She plays hard and gives it her all. It sounds cliche, but it is fact. I challenge anyone to watch a game and tell me otherwise. All of these ladies are finely-tuned athletes who bust their butt in games and practices.
The Bliss play in Omaha on August 8 and then return to Chicago on Saturday, August 15 for a Championship Doubleheader. The Eastern and Western Conference champions will be decided by the end of the night. I have not made my Western Conference pick (although I am leaning towards the Seattle Mist), but you can count on the Bliss taking the Eastern Conference.
