One week from today, Resistance Pro Wrestling returns. "resolution" will be held at the V.F.W.
7256 W 63rd St, Summit, IL. After a three month absence, I am excited about the upcoming show. Even more excited though is RPro Co-Owner Jacques Baron.
As has been well-documented here and elsewhere, RPro has been through a lot in its' four years of existence. There has been some good and some bad. It hasn't been the usual infancy of a wrestling company, but RPro is still standing. This is testament to the Baron brothers and their passion for the company and the people involved.
At the Days of the Dead convention a couple months ago, I spent a lot of time with Jacques at his booth. It is always a blast talking to Jacques. He is one of the funniest people I know and he does some killer impressions.
This conversation went beyond just amusement though. We talked a bit about RPro and the future. I saw the spark in his eyes. I saw the love for the company. Heck, I didn't have to see it, he stated it (again). Jacques is not shy about expressing himself (good or bad). Sometimes that openness has gotten him in trouble, but fortunately, it hasn't changed him.
Jacques has made mistakes. (Who among us hasn't?) I still firmly believe that his heart has always been in the right place. I stayed with RPro, because I believe in RPro and I believe in the people there.
"Resolution" kicks off te new year with some great matches on the card. I am excited about the matches, but even more excited just to see my friends all together at the show. Some of the best fun is the pre-show banter.
If you haven't been to an RPro show, I encourage you to try one. There is a roster of talented young, wrestlers who will bust their butts to put on a great show.
RPro is back. Happy New Year indeed!
