I made the original Johngy shirts so Matt (or whoever else accompanied me) and I would stand out at conventions. It was silly, but it would identify us.
It became even sillier when other people wanted a Johngy shirt. Soon, family and friends had them, but it was still a small thing.
Then wrestlers started asking for them. A good number of the wrestlers who have appeared at Resistance Pro have worn the Johngy shirt at a show or even in the ring. This is crazy, but it is good publicity for Johngy's Beat.
Now, a few years later, it is almost a given that at any show, there will be a handful of Johngy shirts in the crowd. This doesn't just apply to wrestling shows. I have seen people wear them at comic cons and sporting events.
Just last Saturday at "A Benefit for Thailand Volunteer Work," I walked in the building and saw Ox Baker Jr. sporting his Johngy shirt. He was one of three people who wore the Johngy shirt. I appreciate each one.
In all, I would guess over 100 people have this shirt. That still blows my mind. It makes me giggle at times, because it is just so silly. Cool, but silly.
I appreciate everyone who has worn a Johngy shirt. Your support and friendship means the world to me.
