Dominique Collins and the 2016 Chicago Bliss

At my first Legends Football League game, Jack and I stood in the end zone talking to the LFL media rep.  He asked us which Bliss player we wanted to interview.  Not knowing much about the team at that point, I picked out Dominique Collins, mostly based on her unique hair style at that time.  That interview can be found at On the Beat with Dominique Collins.
I asked DC about her hair in that interview.  I'm still not sure if she thought I was being sarcastic, but I wasn't.  She had a partial side shave with carved designs.  It was cute and interesting, kind of like DC herself.
Since then, I have talked to DC many times.  She is one of the most underrated players on the Bliss and probably in the whole LFL.  I have written many times about her work ethic.  It would put many pro athletes to shame.  She is doggedly determined to improve constantly.
I always think of one play which defines her character.  She was on the receiving end of a crushing run by an opposing player.  DC got back up and was ready for the next play.  After the game, she did not shy away from the questions either.  She took everything like a real pro and vowed to work even harder, which she did.  It was a show of pure class on DC's part.
I really can't say enough good things about DC.  She is definitely one of my favorite players in any sport.
If you have any doubt, check out the May 13 Bliss game versus the Seattle Mist to start the Bliss season.  The Bliss lost to the Mist in last year's championship game.  That ended the Bliss streak of two straight LFL titles, but it ignited a flame to recapture their trophy in 2016.  I'm firmly on the Bliss bandwagon and always and especially cheering for DC!
