On the Beat With Kelsey Dotson of the Chicago Bandits 2016

Today, our recurring coverage of the Chicago Bandits brings us to rookie catcher Kelsey Dotson.  Kelsey joined the Bandits via an open tryout after having an outstanding career at the University of Indiana.
Kelsey was a workhorse at Indiana, playing over 50 games at catcher for three of her four years  Her senior season was cut short by an injury.  Kelsey hit for power and average.  She also had a 31 game on base streak, showcasing her consistency.
Prior to a recent game, I interviewed the young catcher.  We talked about her draft experience, the adjustment to playing less in the NPF, playing near her home and more.
I think it is going to be fun watching Kelsey develop in the NPF.  She has all of the necessary tools and the right attitude.
It really is a pleasure getting to know the rookies a bit and also revisiting the veterans.  I just love being around the Bandits and I encourage everyone to join me at the Ballpark.  You can check ChicagoBandits.com for more info on Kelsey and the rest of the team, including scheduling and ticket nfo.  Also, check back here for our recurring coverage.
