On the Beat With Morgan Foley of the Chicago Bandits 2016

I'm back from my roadtrip to Akron and my coverage of the Chicago Bandits features Morgan Foley.  The rookie pitcher signed with the Bandits in May.
Morgan had a great career at the University of Indianapolis.  She was named Great Lakes Valley Conference Freshman of the Year in 2013 and followed with the 2014 Division II Pitcher of the Year award.  She holds the school records for wins (140), strikeouts (1,659) and innings pitched (1,027.0).  Perhaps even more impressive, she threw 8 no-hitters.  She also once struck out 21 batters in a 7 inning win and once struck out 30 in a 13 inning win.  That is some pitching.
Morgan is 1-3 in limited action thi season, but her future is bright.  We talked about the adjustment to pitching less in her rookie season.
We also talked about her tremendous success at Indianapolis.  I loved her answer about her 13 inning effort.  It was like Monica Abbott's answer about a similar situation she had.  That's the attitude of a winner.
I also want to call attention to her remarks about Bandits Nation.  Bandits Nation was one of the first things I appreciated about the team.  There are too many names to mention, but one look on social media or at a game and you will see the great fandom of these fun people.
At the risk of repetition, I must again say that I am so very impressed with Morgan as another of the quality of players and people that are brought into the Bandits organization.  I am proud to be a part of the whole picture and to bring any additional exposure to these athletes and the whole organization.
Head to ChicagoBandits.com to learn more about Morgan and the team.  Also, be sure to check back here for recurring coverage of the Bandits!
