Happy Birthday Dad

Today my dad turns 85.  Although he isn't quite what he used to be, he's darn good at 85!

My dad drives me crazy at times.  He always has.  Maybe that's normal.  Maybe that's life.

Maybe if I reach 85, I'll understand things better than I do now.  Maybe I'll remember my thoughts as a younger man.

I know my dad has experienced a lot in life.  He has lived through wars and has seen technology grow beyond his point of comprehension.  (In all fairness, it is beyond my point of comprehension, too).

At his age, he has to think about his mortality.  I know I already think about mine.

For today though, I hope everything can be pushed aside and he can celebrate a birthday with a youthful exuberance.  Don't we all deserve at least one day to celebrate every year?

Today is my dad's day.  Happy birthday dad (even though you won't see any of this).  I love you.
