On the Beat With Samantha Poole of the Chicago Bandits 2017

The National Pro Fastpitch season is winding down, but there is still softball left to be enjoyed and our coverage of the back-to-back champion Chicago Bandits continues.  Today, we feature Samantha Poole, another of the "Aussie Eight" playing for the Bandits!
Samantha started playing softball at the age of 13.  Despite the somewhat late start, she has compiled quite an impressive softball resume.  Among her many softball accomplishments, she has played with the Aussie Spirit team in the 2016 Japan Cup and played for the 2017 Gilley's Shield winning New South Wales Firestars,
She signed with the Bandits in the last NPF offseason.  Like many first year NPF players, gaining playing time in a crowded lineup has been tough, but Samantha remains ready and positive.  As of this writing, Samantha has appeared in 4 games, getting one hit in 5 at bats and 1 run scored.
In our interview, we talked about the differences between playing in Australia and in the NPF, her start in softball and other fun stuff.  She also talked about her career in Physiotherapy, proving once again that these women are not only making contributions on the field, they are making a difference off the field.  They truly are elite.
Thank you to the Chicago Bandits for allowing me to do what I love.  Thank you to the Australia community for their tremendous support.  It has been wonderful getting to know you and hearing from you all.  Finally, thanks to Samantha for her time and consideration.
There are only a few games left in the 2017 season.  It's really crunch time for the team and the fans.  Head out to a game now.  Check here for recurring coverage and also ChicagoBandits.com for news and schedule info.
