Sabrina Rabin and the 2018 Northwestern Wildcats

It's still chilly, but softball season is here. The Northwestern Wildcats Women's softball team recently started Big Ten Conference play and I am "On the Beat" again with Team Purple.
The Wildcats stand at 20-10, after going 17-8 in non-conference play. They were tied for 3rd in wins during that stretch.  In the three games in Big Ten Conference play, they are 3-2, which is good for 4th place, but it is very early.
Sabrina Rabin has been a huge part of their success this season. Starting all 30 games, Sabrina has put up a crisp .405 batting average, with 12 rbi's, 26 runs scored and 19 stolen bases.  She also has a solid .977 fielding average. Senior outfielder Sabrina was an All-Big Ten second-team selection last season and is well on her way to more accolades this season.
The Wildcats scuffled a bit last season, but they came on strong and there looked to be hope and optimism heading into this season. That is coming to fruition as the Wildcats are playing excellent ball.
I'll be following and covering the Wildcats throughout the rest of the season.  Check back here for reports, interviews, pictures and more related fun. You can also check NUSports.com for more detailed information.
