Mindy Indy (aka Mindy Steffen) is a talented and popular cartoonist from New York. She creates her own comics and sketches, but she is also available for commission work.
Her Apartment Hunt is based on a true story. Other comics of hers like Misfortune Cookie (and Misfortune Cookie 2, which is not a sequel or continuation) are totally pulled from her creative imagination.
As cool as her comics are, I was fascinated by her custom comics. The customer picks watercolor, digital color or b/w and provides a few pictures and details and Mindy does the rest. The result is really cartoon magic. It's odd, but very awesome to see an event or story from your life presented in comic form. I have seen several of her creations and have seen the reactions of the recipients. I was almost as excited just seeing the products. I can see why Mindy Indy is one of the most popular artists at any convention.
