A native of Madison, WI, Adam Burish starred at the University of Wisconsin before being drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2002 NHL Draft. Burish would go on to play four seasons with the Hawks, including their Stanley Cup season of 2009-10.
Burish left the Hawks as a free agent and signed with the Dallas Stars, where he played for two seasons. He finished his NHL career with three seasons with the San Jose Sharks. He played one season in Sweden before retiring. Currently, he currently is an analyst covering Blackhawks games on NBC Sports Chicago.
I had the pleasure of meeting Burish at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show. I was able to talk to him a bit about the Stanley Cup Burish lists that as the highlight of his career.
Winning a championship in Chicago, basically guarantees that you will be remembered forever. Burish had a huge line, which they actually had to cutoff due to time limits. Burish did his best to meet everyone though.
