Friendly Encounters is a weekly series featuring friends who have met celebrities.
Lauren Lappin was a softball pitching star at Stanford Universoty. She went on to win a silver medal in the 2008 Olympics. She also played in the National Pro Fastpitch league with the USSSA Pride and the Pennsylvania Rebellion.
One time when the Rebellion were in town, Chicago Bandits longtime fan Chris Bejcek wore a special jersey for his picture with Lappin. Chris dug into his closet and pulled out his old softball jersey. I like the concept. It's a pair of 37's!
Chris is usually on the other side of the camera. he takes hundreds of pictures and we all appreciate his efforts.
The offseason has barely started and I already miss the Bandits and my friends at the ballpark. The 2019 season is only about 8 months away though. I already am looking forward to it!
