Friend Encounters: Paul Sorvino and Troy Babbs

Friend Encounters is a weekly series featuring friends who have met celebrities.

Troy Babbs is part of my convention family. I believe I first met him at Days of the Dead, but I know we crossed paths at other events, too. Last year at C2E2, Troy joined the Johngy's Beat crew and was a major help.
The partners of Days fo the Dead split up after the last show in 2018. Unfortunately, several of the Days volunteer crew decided to end their Days run, too. Troy was one of those departing. I am pretty sure ther things are in the works, but for now, I am sad I will not see friends like Troy at future Days events.
Troy is one of the most positive and nicest people I know. He volunteered to help me at C2E2, even though he had no real interest in the actual show. He helped just because he is such a giving person.
As a volunteer at Days, he has the opportunity to meet a lot of celebrities. Honestly, Troy gets more pictures with other friends and attendees at Days than he gets with the celebs. He just likes having a good time and making others around him have fun.
Paul Sorvino has had a legendary career. His lengthy resume includes Goodfellas, truly a classic film. He recently started doing some conventions and his prices are very reasonable, especially for an entertainer of his stature.
Of course, Troy got a picture with the famous actor (or maybe Sorvino got a picture with Troy). I always try to get a picture with Troy, although sometimes he has ben too much fo a blur to stop for a selfie. I must note that I did get a picture with Troy at he latest Days, but I did not meet Sorvino, because I had met him earlier last year at another comic con.
I'll miss Troy at Days, but I hope to see him at other events. Just because people leave a convention shouldn't mean they leave your life. It might take a little extra effort, but good friends are worth it.
