Days of the Dead returns to Chicago November 22-24. While I look forward to another great Days weekend, I am recalling some great memories from previous DotD events.
Kurt Angle is one of the most decorated wrestlers of all time. He was won medals and title belts from the Olympics to pro wrestling. He was also one of the biggest wrestling names I had never met, until last July at Days of the Dead.
When the Days crew announced Kurt as a celebrity guest for Indy, I immediately made him one of my main targets. I learned a long time ago not to miss these opportunities. Kurt hasn't done many midwest appearances and I made sure to meet him at Days.
Kurt was in a good mood all weekend. He was happy to talk about his amateur career and his success in pro wrestling. He talked about not taking himself too seriously, as witnessed in some of the more comedic skits he did in the WWE.
Days always has an interesting guest list, with a few wrestling legends among the stars. I have met many great wrestlers at Days and Kurt would certainly rank among the best.
