Mascot Week salutes the fine, fuzzy creatures we all know and love (especially me).
I first met Skates at a Chicago Wolves game, but I have also seen him at Chicago Bandits games, helping to celebrate Swiper's birthday. Mascots stick together.
Skates has been with the Wolves since their debut season. The 2021-22 season will be his 28th season of entertaining fans. What entertains Skates though? During games, he loves to shoot fireworks and throw tshirts to fans. During summers, he visits festivals and other fun events. His favorite movies are Slapshot, Dances with Wolves and Teen Wolf. His favorite songs are "Kickstart My Heart" by Motley Crue and "Hungry Like the Wolf" by Duran Duran.
When he is not delighting fans, Skates is dedicated to getting dogs adopted through the Adopt-A-Dog program. It's interesting that a Wolf would care so much about a dog. It's a great cause though and I applaud Skates ad the Wolves for their efforts.
By the way, Skates is 6'2" (or 6'7" if his ears are up). He also has 2.6 inch fangs and 3.1 inch claws. Fortunately, he did not use either on me while this picture was taken.
Go to ChicagoWolves.com for more info on Skates and the team. Check back here for more recurring mascot fun.
