Blizzard Brawl returns Saturday, December 3 in Waukesha, Wisconsin. As always, I will be "On the Beat" meeting the wrestlers and watching the action.
Wrestler announcements have already started. The first round includes Dustin Runnels, ODB, Chelsea Green, Billy Gunn, Kelly Kelly, Vampiro, Gangrel, Moose and Erick Redbeard. While Linda Kay hasn't officially been announced, it's a safe bet she will be there in some role.
The popular Kay has filled many roles, including a referee and a media person. Last year, she added wrestler to the list and it wasn't just a token appearance. With no offense to the other talent, Kay stole the show with her in-ring ability.
When she switched from ref to wrestler for what became a six person tag match, I figured Kay would get an occasional tag, but be in and out quickly. I thought the others would do most of the work and Kay might get an easy pin. I was wrong. Kay had moves, several moves and she got a very well-earned pin. It's an understatement to say I was surprised at how much she actually worked in the match.
We'll see what happens this year, but Kay will be involved somehow and I'll be there to report on it. Until then, go to GLCWWrestling.com for more info and check back here for my recurring coverage.
