Catching Up With Franco Aw Yeah!

I'm not a huge comic book guy, but I like getting ones involving my friends my friends. My "go-to" comic book shop is Aw Yeah, located a few blocks from my place in Skokie, IL. I went there long before I knew co-owners Art Baltazar and Franco Aureliani.

Writer/artist Franco might be best known (along with Art) for the DC Comics series Tiny Titans, which earned him two Eisner Awards. Of course, Franco has also worked on many other projects, including several DC Comics titles.

I eventually realized Art and Franco owned Aw Yeah Comics. I am still filling my comic book needs at Aw Yeah. A few weeks back, Franco and Art were at Aw Yeah for a going away celebration for one of their staffers. I made sure to pop in to catch up with pop.

I have interviewed Franco a few times. The latest was at C2E2 2020, right before the pandemic hit. I got my buddy,the multi-talented Joey Roth to handle the interviewer duties and he did his usual great job. That interview can be found at On the Beat With Franco at C2E2 2020.
