Celebrity Jersey Cards is a weekly series in which I create virtual trading cards for celebrities wearing sports jerseys. Today, I continue my season-long alphabetical journey through all Major League Baseball teams.
Born in Charleston, SC, Darius Rucker first gained fame as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of rock band Hootie & the Blowfish. In 2001, he released his debut solo album and has also ventured into country music. Rucker is an avid South Carolina Gamecocks fan as well as a Miami Dolphins and Cincinnati Reds fan. It's his allegiance to the Reds which led him to his Celebrity Jersey Card. Perhaps there is a picture of him in a Dolphins jersey which can be another CJC.
Georgia native, Trisha Yearwood rose to fame with a string of country hits starting in the early 1990s. She has sold more than 15 million records and earned three Grammy Awards. She also earned an Emmy for her show Trisha's Southern Kitchen. In singing the National Anthem for the Reds, she earned her Celebrity Jersey Card.
