Never Met is a series featuring celebrities I wanted to meet, but never have.
Actress Shannen Doherty died last month at the too-young age of 53. Doherty had a long and successful career, starting in the early 80s. She first came on my radar when she co-starred on tv's Our House, also co-starring Wilford Brimley and Deidre Hall. Of course, Doherty is probably best known for Beverly Hills 90210 and Charmed.
I almost met Doherty on two occasions. The first was several years ago at a huge convention featuring a lot of tv stars, including most of the cast of 90210. Unfortunately, Doherty had to miss the event due to illness.
Most recently, I planned on seeing her at Fan Expo happening right now in Rosemont, Illinois. Doherty and her tv brother Jason Priestley were among the many celebrities scheduled to appear.
Of course, there are much bigger problems in life and Doherty's passing is much sadder than me not meeting her. Still, although I tried to meet her, the lesson is to meet your favorites when you can.

Was pretty bummed to hear Shannen passed away. My friends and I watched Beverly Hills 90210 pretty religiously during our college years.
