Travel journalist Paige McClanahan is my latest Talking Travel interview guest on Global Traveler. The author of The New Tourist: Waking Up to the Power and Perils of Travel shared her experiences and a lot of wisdom about travel and tourism.
Reflecting its title, the book does include negative aspects of travel, but the overall message is a positive one. The hope is we look at travel with more appreciation, respect and awareness.
With each of these interviews, I gain a new perspective on travel. This one with McClanahan was no different. I liked how she balanced the good and bad, but came away with the good. She is never preachy while delivering her message.
