Cards That Never Were is a recurring series in which I create virtual trading cards for players missed in various sets. It is a concept I have borrowed from far too many to list, but I appreciate all of their efforts. More of my creations and many great creations of others can be found in the Custom Baseball Cards Facebook group (and not just baseball cards).
Born in San Diego, CA, Jon Keyworth had an outstanding football career at the University of Colorado. He was selected by the Denver Broncos in the sixth round of the 1974 NFL Draft and went on to play his entire seven year career in the Mile High city. He rushed for 2,653 yards averaging 3.8 yards per carry and scoring 22 touchdowns. He also gained 1,057 receiving yards.
For his efforts, Topps gave Keyworth cards in their sets from 1976 -1980. He was missing a rookie card and a "career capper" card. I corrected those omissions.
