On the Beat (Again) with Bruce Scivally at the 2012 MCCC

We first met author Bruce Scivally at C2E2 earlier this year.  Bruce is the author of Billion Dollar Batman and other books.
At C2E2, Bruce discussed his book and gave us a few nuggets of Batman trivia.  When we ran into him at the recent Motor City Comic Con, we asked for a few more Batman trivia bits (they are like potato chips...can't stop getting them).  Bruce also gave us his favorite Batman villain (interestly, it is also mine).
Bruce's Billion Dollar Batman is an intensive, interesting look at the history of Batman.  It is like an encyclopedia of Batman, but presented in such a way that the reader is not just bombarded with facts.
In all of the frenzy of the MCCC, I forgot to ask Bruce about writing an Aquaman book.  You know that means I will be looking for Bruce at a future convention to get that answer.

On the Beat with Bruce Scivally at C2E2

I had to go to a convention in downtown Chicago to discover a talented writer who lives a couple miles form me.  How about that?
Bruce Scivally is a Chicago area historian, teacher and author.  Bruce's latest book is Billion Dollar Batman, a history of Batman in movies and television.  This book is full of interviews, pictures and fascinating stories covering the history of the Caped Crusader.
When I saw Bruce would be at C2E2, I really wanted to meet and talk to him.  I have a fascination with learning the history and behind-the-scenes info and Bruce's three years of research certainly delivers everything I would want to know about Batman.
Bruce kindly gave us a few minutes of his time to discuss Billion Dollar Batman and to give us a few nuggets of Bat-trivia.  Watch the interview below to learn more about Bruce and his book and to get a special surprise visitor near the end!
Previous to Billion Dollar Batman, Scivally wrote a book about Superman, entitled Superman on Film, Television, Radio and Broadway.  With the big two super heros done, the next logical choice (at least in my biased eyes) has to be Aquaman.  Come on Bruce, make us Aquafans happy!
