On the Beat with Ivan Cryptosis at Mad Mobster Con 2015

I originally met Dr. Ivan Cryptosis a few years ago at a comic con.  Since then, I have seen him at a few other cons and he is always good for some entertainment.
Dr. Cryptosis is a classic horror host.  He is also the "center square of pop culture."  That makes him a perfect fit for Johngy's Beat, your 316th best source for pop culture nuggets.
At Mad Mobster Con, Dr. Cryptosis debuted the new Cryptosis lighters, accompanied by a series of puns and jokes.  These are sure to be hits and eventually collectors items.
Cryptosis was also selling the films of Christopher Mihms.  Mihms goes for the old school feel in his films.  They are described as "new old, good bad movies."  They recall classic monsters, science fiction and horror films.  Quoting The Christopher Mihms Facebook page, "The films  are award-winning, as-authentic-as-possible 1950's-drive-in-style B-movies."
I love the concept and the execution.  This is great entertainment.  It is easy these days to make high-budget, high tech movies.  Those movies might be impressive, but they lack heart like the films of Mihms.  Give me a few of his dvd's, a big pizza and a Coke and I am happy for a lzy Saturday.
After you watch our interview below, you can get more info about Mihms and his movies at SaintEuphoria.com.  Check him out.  You will not be disappointed.

Johngy Meets The Center Square of Pop Culture

I first met Cryptosis at C2E2.  Scott Beatty handled the interview duties.  That interview can be found at On the Beat with Cryptosis.
"The center square of pop culture" is a natural fit for "the 316th best source for pop culture nuggets."  Together, we cover a lot of pop culture goodness.  Actually, for Dr. Ivan Cryptosis, it goes further.  He is the "Billy Mays of Hosts, and Curator of the Macabre. The voice and face for the entertainment industry."
At this year's Flashback Weekend, we ran into our old friend.  The good Doc was talking to fans and catching up with other horror icons.  He fit perfectly at this convention.
Cryptosis is busy in the entertainment industry, but some of his best work is on Facebook.  His thoughts, rants and observations are very interesting.  I encourage everyone to follow him and join the fun.

On the Beat with Cryptosis at C2E2

One of the more interesting guests at C2E2 (Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo).  He is the self-described "center square of pop culture", "the curator of the macabre", "the Billy Mays of horror hosts" and "the voice and face of the entertainment industry".
That is quite a resume, but Cryptosis lives up to that billing.  In the interview below, Cryptosis explains why he is all of the above.  He also talks about his favorite movies, C2E2 and other fun stuff.
As interesting as Cryptosis is, his alter ego Christopher Mihm is even more interesting.  Mihm is a writer, director, producer and actor in films of the "Mihmiverse".  Mihm's films are feature length and are done in the 1950's drive-in style.  Since 2006, Mihm has released one film a year and has racked up a lot of awards and praise along the way.
The interview below gives a glimpse into Cryptosis, but to get a great look at Mihms, you should check out his bio page at sainteuphoria.com.  Mihm is an interesting man with a fascinating story and entertaining films.  I have had a blast learning all about him.
After you watch the Cryptosis interview, please be sure to check out sainteuphoria.com and follow Mihm on twitter.  You can also learn more about the films of Christopher Mihm on the Facebook page and their YouTube channel.  Lastly, I cannot forget to send you to the Facebook page for Cryptosis, where you can see this legendary entertainer.
