Although Todd Bridges was the first African-American child to have a regular role on a tv series (The Waltons), he really gained fame on Diff'rent Strokes. Bridges had some troubles, but appears to have rebounded well.
Bridges recently published his autobiography, Killing Willis. Bridges talks openly about his troubles and addictions. It's not always pleasant, but it's an intriguing story which seems to have a good ending.
Bridges was in good spirits when I talked to him in Novi at the Motor City Comic Con. He was happy to be meeting his fans and he took time to really talk with everyone.
