Johngy Joins the Skokie Patch

As you all know, did some writing while I was at Lerner Newspapers, despite being in the Circulation Department.  I also write an online piece for Global Traveler magazine every Wednesday, as well as writing the occasional print piece for GT, too.  I contribute to with reports from wrestling events.
A few months ago, I started a new writing venture, as a contributor for the Patch, an online source of neighborhood news.  My home base is the Skokie Patch, although I have written for other Patches.  The Patch is a great site and I am not just saying it because I contribute to it.  I check the Skokie Patch regularly for news and entertainment.
At OakFest in Oak Forest (IL), I ran into the Oak Forest Patch Editor Lauren Traut.  Seeing Lauren at the Patch booth brough back bad memories of working neighborhood fests during my days at Lerner.  I must say though, Lauren looked a lot happier than I did.  She seemed genuinely happy to be there (or else she is a great actor).
Lauren was kind enough to give me an official Patch tshirt.  I wear it proudly whenever I am at an event for a Patch story.  By the way, this is an open offer to Lauren.  If you would like your very own shirt (available in the color of your choice), just let me know and I will get one to you as a token of my appreciation for the Patch shirt.
Lauren Traut and me in Oak Forest, IL-July 2012.
