On the Beat with C.S. Marks at Wizard World 2013

One of my favorite parts of Wizard World is meandering through the area for authors and artists and checking out what looks interesting.  Often these stops end up being some of the most fun interviews.  Such was the case with author C.S. Marks.
Marks is the author of several books, including the Elfhunter trilogy.  She is also a pure delight.  Obviously, she is serious about her work, but she also had some fun with the comic con experience.  At her table were bookmarks "crafted from leather by elves."  It is that bit of whimsy which comes across during the interview below and in simply talking to her.
She seemed to be having a great time at the convention.  She was outgoing and inviting without being obnoxious.  She eagerly gave me an interview, promoted her work and injected some humor.  In fact, I would describe her as the perfect comic con guest.  I never felt like I was on the receiving end of a late-night infomercial, as I have with some others.
One sign of a successful author (or at least a successful author appearance at such a show) is the attraction of new fans.  I admit I am not a huge fan of the fantasy genre, but I was captivated by Marks and her works and I will be checking them out.
After you watch the video below, I encourage everyone to check out CSMarks.com and the C.S. Marks Facebook page and follow C.S. Marks on twitter to learn all about her and to get the updates.
