On The Beat With Chelsea Forkin of the Chicago Bandits 2017

We are back on the Beat with the back-to-back reigning National Pro Fastpitch champion Chicago Bandits and we could not be happier.  Currently, the Bandits sit in first place with a record of 6-1 as they head out for their first roadtrip of the season.  Today, our coverage brings us to newcomer Chelsea Forkin.
Australian born Chelsea comes to the Bandits with an impressive resume.  She won three Australian National Championship titles with the Western Australian Flames and one title with the Queensland Heat.  Prior to that, she was the first girl to ever play for the boys' U14 Australian National Baseball team.  She also represented Australia in softball at the junior and senior national levels.
She signed with the Texas Charge for the 2016 season and hit .242 with 3 home runs and 7 rbi's in her first NPF season.  She also had a perfect fielding percentage while handling 55 chances in her utility role.
This season, Chelsea and seven other Australian players comprised the Elite Eight who signed with the Bandits.  It is a unique situation and there is no better place for it than Chicago!
We talked to Chelsea about her path to softball, the differences between playing in Australia and the NPF, playing against and with her fellow Aussies and more.
I hope these interviews are raising awareness and generating interest in the Bandits.  The organization and the athletes individually deserve the support of Chicago.  For more info on the Bandits, go to ChicagoBandits.com and then go to a game!
Once again, I want to thank the Chicago Bandits for their continued hospitality in allowing me access.  I also want to thank Chelsea for her time and consideration.
