On The Johngy "OR ELSE" Podcast - Ep. 62: Professor Kliq, Tommy and I welcome a very special guest. Professor Kiq is a very familiar guest or more precisely, he is familial. Professor Kliq is the alter ego of Mike Else, Tommy's younger, musician brother.

Mike lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife and child. As Professor Kliq, he is returning to Chicago for a special performance on May 5.

Tommy and I wanted Mike on our podcast for a long time and this was the perfect opportunity.

Mike is a great guy and super talented. I have met him several times and interviewed him, too. It was always fun with him.

As much as I like Mike, there is nothing like the brotherly bond. I know how much Tommy loves and respects his brother.

Lending his thoughts, Tommy said, "I have had the unique privilege of seeing my Brother “Professor Kliq”… Grow from a young teenager dabbling in the art of electronic music, to see the commodity he has become. He has released several albums, he has scored documentaries, video games. Television shows and more! I am extremely proud of him, and am honored to have the unique perspective of seeing it unfold from the front row."

Honestly, it would be worth it to me just to see Tommy's face at the show. It will be a special night for the Else brothers and I can't wait to witness it.

Clicking with Professor Kliq

I met Professor Kliq at a Resistance Pro wrestling event.  The popular musician became a frequent fan at RPro events.  He also recently was a ring announcer for the recent "All the Colors of the Dark" and he received rave reviews from the fans and the RPro crew.

Professor Kliq is a well-known musician, especially around the Chicago area.  He has been creating music through computers since 1999.  His music covers an eclectic mix of styles.  I can honestly report that I really dig his music.  In fact, I have a bunch of his songs in my iPod and I listened to them often as I trained for the Marathon last summer.

Otherwise known as Mike Else, Professor Kliq always seems to be in mid-project.  He has put out a lot of great stuff and has a lot more coming.  He told us about some of his projects, as well as discussing his ring announcing debut and other fun stuff in our recent interview.  That can be found at On the Beat with Professor Kliq at Resistance Pro's "All the Colors of the Dark."

On the Beat with Resistance Pro at "Rust in Peace"

Resistance Pro's Halloween themed "Rust in Peace" was another night of great wresting action, along with spooky, funny and odd costumes worn by wrestlers and fans.  It made for another memorable night at RPro.
JohngysBeat.com scored our first interview with RPro Security member Scottie Steiner.  The namesake of Big Poppa Pump and the son of RPro staffer Heidi discussed his future goal of wrestling, along with other fun stuff.  Scottie, aka Big Scott Vader, won last year's costume contest as ScottDust and should have won this year.
Special Correspondent Jonathan McMahon got an interview with Sugar Dunkerton.  Special D is always a treat and is always entertaining.
JMac also talked to Mad Man Pondo.  Pondo discussed his role in video games, his role at RPro and more.
Lastly, I talked to Professor Kliq who was back at RPro.  The talented musician and wrestling fan talked about his latest projects.  It is always a pleasure seeing and talking to Professor Kliq.

On the Beat at Resistance Pro's "Welcome to My Nightmare"

Resistance Pro's last event, Welcome to My Nightmare, was a fantastic evening of exciting pro wrestling, cool costumes by all, tricks, treats and Svengoolie!  Who could ask for more?
Every R Pro show is special, but the Halloween show is uniquely special.  (Is that redundant?)  In any case, the Halloween show is a lot of fun because most in attendance are in costumes and that includes the wrestlers, the fans and even the R Pro owners.  It is magically surreal.
As Rowdy Johngy Piper, I scored some interviews with a mix of the R Pro talent.  JohngysBeat.com got Vector A before and after his title match with Egotistico Fantastico (aka "The Ego" Robert Anthony).  We got Road Warrior Andres the announcer.  We got Lucy Mendez, Mad Man Pondo and Crazy Mary Dobson and newcomer Jordynne Grace.  We even got musician and R Pro fan Professor Kliq.  Oh, did I mention we got Billy Corgan, Creative Director?  All of those interviews can be viewed below.
It was another great show.  I know this seems like a repeat of last month's piece about the previous R Pro show, but that is only because R Pro continues to put on great shows and I continue to try to tell everyone.

On the Beat with Professor Kliq at Excalibur

JohngysBeat.com was in attendance at Excalibur for a night of Resistance Pro Wrestling action, when Contributor Extraordinaire Matt Parker spotted Professor Kliq in the crowd.  Knowing that Prof. Kliq is one of the collest musicians on the Chicago scene, Matt jumped on the opportunity to interview him.
The pair discussed some of Kliq's projects (both past and present).  They also talked a bit about wrestling, but mostly stayed on the music topic.
Professor Kliq is one cool cat and definitely a force in Chicago music.  We are proud to call him a friend of JohngysBeat.com.

Friendly Encounters: Tommy Else Meets Professor Kliq

This is a weekly series about friends who have met celebs.

Today is a very special Friendly Encounters, because both men are celebrities.  More important, both men are great guys and I am very proud to call them friends of mine.
A couple days ago, I featured Johngy's Beat Special reporter Tommy else interviewing Professor Kliq.  They were outside of the Elbo Room in Chicago (IL) and also notable was that Tommy was sporting his new Johngy's Beat tshirt.  This type of humor and loyalty is priceless!
I met Tommy last December when I contacted him about his tryout for Resistance Pro Wrestling.  Since then, I have seen Tommy many times, including once with my nephew on his T3 Universe show.  Matt and I also attended one of his T3 Fitness classes.  If I lived closer, I swear I would go every weekend.  Tommy is just a genuine, funny, positive guy, who I feel is becoming a closer friend each time I see him.
I met Professor Kliq through Tommy.  Professor Kliq makes awesome music on his computer (some of which we have used on our interviews).  He is also a DJ and a self-described "crappy keyboard player".  I have heard his music and he is anything but "crappy".  He is innovative, interesting and cool.
I interviewed the Professor at the last Resistance Pro event after meeting him for the first time.  Like Tommy, Prof Kliq is a great guy and I hope to get to know him more as time goes on.

Today, we feature a very special interview.  Tommy Else took time away from his busy schedule of running T3 Fitness and the T3 Universe to score his first interview for JohngysBeat.com.
Tommy nabbed Professor Kliq right outside of The Elbo Room in Chicago, on a night when Professor Kliq was performing there.  Aside from being Tommy's first interview for us, I believe it is our first interview of a musician and I could not have been happier to get this one.  Honestly, I was downright giddy.
One of the great things about doing this site is that I get to write posts about cool people like these two.  I love these guys.

On the Beat with Professor Kliq

We have followed Tommy Else since his tryout at Resistance Pro.  We have even survived one of his T3 Fitness classes (seriously, here is the video proof).  Tommy is a great guy and I am proud to call him a friend.
This isn't about Tommy though.  It is about his brother Mike, also known as Professor Kliq.  Of course, we came to know Professor Kliq through Tommy.
A Chicago area native, Mike has been making computer music since he was 12.  He graduated from Columbia College (Chicago) with a BFA in music composition.  He is extremely busy and popular on the music scene and has recently released an album "Curriculum Vitae," which can be sampled and purchased here.
Music has gone with wrestling since the days of Gorgeous George.  It only makes sense that we would run into Professor Kliq at an R Pro event.  Despite being busy enjoying the action with friends, he gave us a few minutes of his time for an introductory interview.  We hope to talk to Professor Kliq again and to watch him perform live.  Like Tommy, Mike is a great guy (and he dresses better than Jimmy Hart).
