Happy Birthday Dad

Of course I know that my dad will never see this.  It isn't really about my dad.  It's more about family in general.
I love my family.  I like to think we are pretty close.  We don't spend as much time together as we would like, but we are in touch and we get together when we can.
I think we have gotten much closer as we have gotten older.  Maybe earlier, we were all consumed with finding our own way.  Maybe it took us settling into our own lives, before we could really reconnect with each other.
The same can be said for my dad.  I never felt especially close to him.  He worked a lot, like most dads.  He wasn't really a "hugger" dad.  I suppose I knew he loved me, but not much was ever expressed either verbally or physically.
As he got older, he seemed to appreciate family much more, too.  He has become a hugger, which is probably a big step for someone like him.  He is much more expressive verbally, too.
Life is funny and weird.  You can go with it or you can fight it.  I've done both.
Like I said, my dad will never see this (he isn't a computer guy).  Still, I hope you join me in sending birthday well wishes to him.  I believe in good vibes.  I believe in karma.  I believe that he will feel it.
Happy birthday dad!

He will enjoy seeing you today! It is always good to get out of the house and see people!
Happy Birthday again dad and like John said he will probably never see this since he doesn't use the computer. He looked good yesterday!
