"The Southern Savior" John Skyler captured the Resistance Pro Heavyweight title at the last RPro event. I recapped that surprising and exciting night for the Patch at On the Beat at Resistance Pro's "Rumble in Summit."
Skyler has been wrestling since 2008. He has had matches in the WWE and in TNA, as well as in Japan and pretty much everywhere else. He already held RPro gold, as one half of the tag team champions with Corey Hollis. That title reign lasted 6 months.
His current run as champ started with a surprise and a bit of controversy, but that doesn't take away from his victory. He did win the belt within the rules given.
Along with Skyler, Holidead also won the Women's title, by defeating 3 others (including then-champ Rachael Ellering) in September. I think 2018 is going to be a big comeback year for the company. Exciting things are happening at RPro.
The next RPro event is in Summit as usual. "Kingdom Come" will take place Saturday, November 18. Doors open at 6 pm and bell time is 7 pm.
The November show is their anniversary show and it is always a special one. Skyler's first title defense tops the card, but there will also be plenty of other fantastic action.
