Mascot Week: Benny the Bull

This is Mascot Week.  All week. I shall be featuring some of my favorite mascots.

Debuting in 1969, Benjamin T. "Benny" Bull is the dean of Chicago sports mascots. Benny was named after Ben Bentley, the Bull's first Public Relations Manager and Stadium Announcer.
The current version of Benny was introduced in 2004. Unlike his predecessors, he lacks a tail, which allows him to do more athletic stunts. In 2013, Forbes named Benny the most popular mascot in sports.
Benny proved he is not sexist, when I saw him cheering for the WNBA Chicago Sky last season. Maybe he was hoping they had a cute lady mascot, but unfortunately for him, the Sky's mascot is Sky Guy. Still, Benny had a great time entertaining all, including this reporter.
