Friend Encounters is a weekly series featuring friends who have met celebrities. Headng into Days of the Dead Indy July 5-7, I am presenting a special Days of the Dead edition of Friendly Encounters.
I met Troy Babbs at Days of the Dead several years ago. Troy is one of the nicest and most genuine people you will ever meet. He has joined the Johngy's Beat crew a few times while we covered various events. He is always ready to go above and beyond the call of duty.
Troy had offered to help me at one convention a couple years ago. (Keep in mind, this isn't a contractually binding situation.) For whatever reason, his main reasons for wanting to attend the particular convention changed and he didn't have a need to be there. He didn't tell me this until after the day eneded, but he only came because he promised me he would help. There aren't many people who are that solid and strong with their word.
At the last Days of the Dead in 2018, Troy met Coolio. This picture is classic. Troy could actually borrow the "coolio" moniker, because he is very cool. Seriously, Troy has fun wherever and with whomever is around him. Maybe Coolio should post about being with Troy!
Sadly, Troy has moved on from DotD. He is still busy on the convention scene and other places. He last joined the Johngy's Beat crew at C2E2 in March. While I miss my friend st DotD, I know I will see him elsewhere and it i always good.
