Today, I continue Swag Week. All week, I featured some of the cool memorabilia I have collected related to or because of my coverage.
Mike Peck is in his 19th season with the Rockford IceHogs. Currently the Director of Business Operations, Mike has worked in several different roles in his long tenure with the team.
I first met Mike many years ago, when I was covering the Chicago Rush arena football team. The Rush played some games in Rockford during their last season. I met Mike and began covering the IceHogs the next season.
I had a lot of fun during my several seasons covering the team. Mike was always very welcoming and appreciative of my efforts. The entire organization treated me well. I am grateful for the opportunity and I have a lot of wonderful memories from my time in Rockford.
At some point, I learned that Mike had a bobblehead. It was a fitting honor for a person who has given a lot to the organization. Of course, I had to find one. I joked with Mike about it several times, but I eventually did find a new one and I added it to my collection.
