Eva Stees and the 2020 Northwestern Wildcats

Over the last couple days, I have featured Northwestern senior softballers Morgan Newport and Emma Bartz. Eva Stees is the third and final senior on the Wildcats.
A catcher-infielder, Eva describes Northwestern as her "dream school." Along with her softball carer, Eva is majoring in Environmental Sciences.
Like teammate Emma, Eva was mostly a pinch runner throughout her NU career. She appeared in 65 games, but only had six ABs. She shined on the base paths though, stealing five bases and scoring 23 runs.
As I wrote yesterday, being a part-time specialist isn't an easy role, but like Emma, Eva excelled in that role. She was a great team player.
I should have been covering the team over the last couple months. I should have joined Wildcats fans at Drysdale Field to cheer on Team Purple. The team should have had a great season and the seniors should have had a fun farewell.
Instead, I am forced to wish them luck and thank them here  for four awesome seasons. They deserve better, but that's out of our control. They are all quality people and I am sure they will move on to bigger and better things.
I hope to see Fall Ball in September. Until then, go to NUSports.com for news and updates.
