Friend Encounters: George Wendt and Michael West

Friend Encounters is a weekly series featuring friends who have met celebrities.

Michael West is an author I first met years ago. Based in Indiana, West has written many books and short stories in the horror field. His twisted tales don't seem like they could ever come from such a pleasant fellow, but they do. Michael is a great guy and a very talented writer.
A few years back, Michael "had beers with" George Wendt. I found this funny, because Michael always struck me as similar to Wendt's Cheers character Norm in his friendliness. I picture Michael walking into a convention and everyone yelling "Michael."
Michael is a dual threat at cons. He attends them as fans and as a creative guest. Either way, he is busy, but always makes time for his fans and friends, even pesky writers like me.
Go to ByMichaelWest.com to learn more about his writing. If you ever see Michael, be sure to shout his name gleefully.
