Flashback Weekend returns to Rosemont August 4-6. It's always a fun time at Flashback and this year promises to be another great weekend.
One of my favorite guests from a previous Flashback Weekend is actress Dana DeLorenzo. Perhaps best known for her role on television's Ash vs Evil Dead, DeLorenzo has some Chicago ties. She attended DePaul University, appeared in Tony n' Tina's Wedding and did other performances here.
It wasn't the first time I ever met DeLorenzo, but Flashback 2018 was the best time I ever had with her. I attended each day and it was more fun every time I saw her. We talked a bit the first day. The second day, we chatted more and she gave me a warm hug like we were lifelong friends. The third day, she called me over and wanted to do some fun pics. She strung me up using her tie, she coked me and other such goofiness. I didn't mind at all. Let me rephrase that. I loved every minute of it.
Of course, a crowd gathered round, which actually worked out well, drawing even more folks to her booth. I spent the rest of the day as a minor celebrity as attendees thought I was somehow connected to DeLorenzo. The truth is, I am not sure why she took a liking to me that day, but it gave me a wonderful memory.
I cannot promise anyone this year will be that engaging, but I know the guest list, including a Scream reunion, is full of fascinating celebrities. Although I am not a celebrity, I will be there "On the Beat" a always.
