Friend Encounters is a weekly series featuring friends who have met celebrities.
I met author John Cosper through Mad Man Pondo. Although we haven't physically met yet, we have talked several times and he has assisted me on a few articles on Global Women's Sports Radio.
John is the author of more than 20 books, mostly wrestling biographies, but other wrestling books and some fiction, too. My shelves have several of John's books, including Memoirs of a Mad Man, Chris Candido: No Gimmicks Needed and Charlie Kruel: Escape From VHS Hell. John is perfect for collaborating with wrestlers on their books, because of his knowledge, passion and respect for wrestling.
Today though, I feature John away from wrestling. John met Elvis and Elvis in Las Vegas a few years ago. This could have made for an interesting tag team (Freebird style, of course). Imagaine the Three Elvises versus the Von Erichs. John would just need to grow his hair a bit and get a dazzling jumpsuit.
