Urka is pro softball player Erika Piancastelli, one of my favorites. A native of Italy, Erika has starred for McNeese State, Athletes Unlimited and the Italian National team.
A catcher by trade, Erika has shown her versatility by playing lots of outfield in the AU league. I saw her make one of the best throws I have ever seen, when she threw out a runner at third with a throw from deep right field. The fans at AU went crazy for that play, no matter which team they were cheering. It was just that good.
Aside from her play, Erika is busy with RISR, a softball program to help other players of all ages. Although mostly retired, even old players like e can learn from RISR.
