Celebrity Jersey Cards is a weekly series in which I create virtual trading cards for celebrities wearing jerseys. Today, I start a season-long march alphabetically through all MLB teams.
Born in Oregon, actor Ty Burrell gained big fame on the television show Modern Family. He has acted steadily ever since the show ended. Burrell and his wife donated a large chunk of money and started Tip Your Server to help staffs during the pandemic in Salt Lake City. A self-described lifelong fan of the Oregon Ducks, Portland Trail Blazers, New York Mets, and the Los Angeles Rams, Burrell showed baseball loyalty while on the field at CitiField. Burrell's batting stance might not cause fear in the hearts of pitchers, but it did earn him a Celebrity Jersey Card.
Brooklyn native Debra Messing gained her stardom on tv's Will & Grace, for which she received seven Golden Globe Award nominations and five Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, winning once, in 2003. She later reprised her role during the show's three season revival. Messing threw out a first pitch at CitiField and repped her home town favorite Mets jersey to land on a Celebrity Jersey Card.
