Celebrity Jersey Cards #724 Chad Smith & Frankie Torres

Celebrity Jersey Cards is a weekly series of celebrities wearing sports jerseys.

Born in Minnesota, drummer Chad Smith has been with the Red Hot Chili Peppers since 1988. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. Despite being a Minnesota native, he is a fan of his home state Michigan teams. That explains his Detroit Lions jersey on his Celebrity Jersey Card. It doesn't explain the #23 though. Nobody of much note wore that umber for the Lions.

Minnesota native Frankie Torres appeared on The Voice Season 26. Although she didn't win, she achieved the rare "four chair turn" as all four judges wanted her on their team. My interview with Frankie appears on Global Traveler today and can be found at 

A big Minnesota fan, the Celebrity Jersey Card stems from her singing the national anthem for the Vikings. Her #24 jersey might be for former DB Robert Griffin.
