Celebrity Jersey Cards is a weekly series in which I create digital trading cards for celebrities wearing sports jerseys. Today, I continue my season-long alphabetical march through all MLB teams.
Born in Kansas City, Missouri, actor Chris Cooper starred on tv's Lonesome Dove, which was his breakthrough role. He won the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in Adaptation. Cooper and his wife adopt and live with rescue dogs. The Kansas City Royals invited him to toss a ceremonial pitch, which lande him on a Celebrity Jersey Card.
Actor and comedian David Koechner was born in Tipton, Missouri. After studying comedy in Chicago, he moved to New York and became a cast member on
Saturday Night Live. One of his biggest roles was in
Anchorman, reprising it in
Anchorman 2. He still performs comedy in Los Angeles area clubs, but returned to Kansas City wearing the Royals powder blues, to earn his Celebrity Jersey Card.
