Alex Vincent at Flashback Weekend 2018

As we head closer to Flashback Weekend, I am recalling some of my favorite moments at the convention. Today, I feature Alex Vincent from Child's Play, one of my favorite horror movies.

Vincent played Andy Barclay in the Child's Play franchise. He started as a youngster and continued uin the role through his teens. The Child's Play franchise comprises a major part of his acting career, but Vincent has also done some writing and is a sound engineer.

Vincent embraces his role as Andy, much like he is embracing the Chucky doll in our photo. Vincent gets it. He knows the role earned him a spot in the hearts of horror fans. He understands it will always give him a place at horror cons. He is great about the whole thing, although he has moved on in his career. Vincent was happy to discuss his time as Andy when I met him at Flashback Weekend.

Child's Play with Alex Vincent

I thought Child's Play was a great horror movie.  I loved the Chucky character.  I had the pleasure of meeting Chucky (Brad Dourif) several years ago.  Young Andy Barclay wasn't a big fan of the Chucky (because Chucky tried to kill him).
At the recent Days of the Dead convention, I had the pleasure of meeting Alex Vincent who played Andy.  Andy had an interesting group of fans waiting to meet him.  There were a lot of young females and there were a lot of older male horror fans like me.  To his credit, Alex spent quality time with everyone.  He seemed excited to be at the convention.  In fact, he mentioned wanting to appear in Chicago.
It's hard to believe Child's Play came out 23 years ago.  It's also hard to believe that young Andy is now in his late 20's.  It was fun meeting Alex, but I feel a bit older now!
