Halloween with a Rockford Peach (aka Thunderkitty)

The Rockford Peaches were a women's baseball team in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League.  They played from 1943-1954.  The Peaches (and the AAGPBL) regained some fame when they were featured in A League of Their Own.

It was quite fitting that Thunderkitty would represent the Peaches.  Thunderkitty's whole persona is a throwback.  From her entrance music, to her look to her in-ring approach, TK pays homage to days gone by.  She is unique and a fan favorite because of all of it.

TK has been with RPro for a long time.  She is always around the title picture, but she has yet to capture a belt.  I think that will change soon.  I think 2015 will be a "peachy" year for TK!

On the Beat at Resistance Pro's "Vulgar Display of Power"

Resistance Pro Wrestling kicked off 2014 with "Vulgar Display of Power" at 115 Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park, IL.  At the risk of being redundant, it was another great night at R Pro.  "Vulgar Display of Power" featured the usual core of entertaining R Pro wrestlers, plus wrestling legends Raven, Tommy Dreamer and Tracy Smothers, with the lovely Jessie Belle.
We got a bunch of interviews with the talent on hand, including Dreamer, who wasn't too pleased with the events of the evening (he got double-crossed by longtime rival Raven).  We also got Jessie Belle, who was making her return to R Pro after over a year.  After his debut match, Michael Bradley spoke to us.  We also revisited heavyweight champ Jocephus Brody, Thunderkitty, Chris Hall and Team I.O.U.  We finally got Remi Wilkins for the first time.  Those interviews are below.
Debuting wrestler Diablo Jones spoke to us briefly and Colonel Jesse Corgan blew us off.  Video footage of those moments can be found on the R Pro Girls Girls Girls! Facebook events page.
"Girls Girls Girls!" is the next show for Resistance Pro and it takes place this Saturday, February 22.  It features the Samuel J. Thompson Memorial Tournament, an eight women tourney for an R Pro contract.  I will be there and I am bringing several members of the Chicago Bliss, 2013 Legends League champions!  Will the Bliss get involved in any of the action?  You have to come to the show to find out.  This one promises to be another winner for R Pro.

On the Beat at Resistance Pro Wrestling "Fair Warning"

Johngy's Beat was in full force at "Fair Warning," the most recent Resistance Pro Wrestling event.  Matt "Big Money" Parker, Scott "Big Ego" Beatty and I were all in attendance.  During the course of the evening, in addition to watching great wrestling action, we landed interviews with several members of the R Pro roster.

We have talked to Eric St. Vaughn a few times.  Despite his treatment of yours truly on Wrestle Beat Episode 2, I still enjoy interviewing him.  Besides ESV's first interview with us just hit 1,000 views, quite an impressive feat.  Check out Eric St. Vaughn's Facebook page to get all of the info on him.

Thunderkitty wrestled Melanie Cruise for the title, but came up a bit short.  As if that wasn't bad enough, she had to deal with being interviewed by Scott (although still a better option than Jonathan Coachman).  She's got a great character and the wrestling ability to go wit h it.  We expect great things from her.  After you watch this second interview with Thunderkitty, check out www.Thunderkittyonline.webs.com and the Thunderkitty Facebook page to keep up with her.

On the Beat with Thunderkitty of Resistance Pro Wrestling

When I saw Thunderkitty's photo on an ad for Resistance Pro Wrestling's "A Small Deadly Space", I knew we needed to have her on Johngy's Beat.  Her old school look drew my interest.  The more I learned about her, the more I liked.
On her twitter account, she describes herself as "wrestler, nerd, public transportation warrior and occasional voice of reason".  She says she enjoys beer, rock and roll and ridiculousness, but not necessarily in that order.
Okay, I am hooked.  Interesting (unique) gimmick.  Funny write up.  Seems to have a good attitude.  Johngy's Beat needed to get a word from this newcomer to R Pro.
Fortunately, Thunderkitty was very obliging.  After winning her match via the sleeper hold (how's that for old school?), Thunderkitty gave us a few minutes of her time.
Her old school gimmick seems more of a persona.  The best wrestling gimmicks usually are. The fans of R Pro certainly seemed to get into her gimmick.
Thunderkitty discusses her character, how she got started in wrestling, her future goals, comics and much more.  Her influences include some of the legendary women wrestlers (all of whom are long retired).  She is a throwback indeed.
