Friendly Encounters: Kam Chancellor, Kim Perez and Dominique Collins

This is a weekly series featuring friends who have met celebrities.

The people in the photo below have seven league titles.  Kim Perez and Dominique Collins have three each with the three time Legends Football Lague champion Chicago Bliss, while Kam Chancellor has one with the NFL 2013 champ Seattle Seahawks.  All three people also play safety for their respective teams.
All three are champs and all three are stars.  All three are also feared hard hitters.  Pound for pound, I might tyake Kim and DC over Kam.  Anyone, who thinks thes ladies are just eye candy on a field, has never seen these ladies hit.  They are fierce.  I am sure they even earned the respect of Kam when he attended their game in Seattle against the Mist.
Anyway you look at it, there is a lot of talent in that picture.   don't know Kam, but if he is half as nice as Kim and DC, he'd be a pretty cool guy.
The Chicago Bliss currently stand at 1-0 after thrashing the Denver Dream 93-6.  Their next game is Saturday, June 3 against the tough Atlanta Steam.  This is one you don't want to miss.
You can check out Kim, DC and the rest of the Chicago Bliss at LFLUS.com.  Better yet, go to a game and see how tough these ladies are on the field and how sweet they are off the field.

Kim Perez, Your Chicago Bliss Quarterback?

Kim Perez is one of the nicest, most personable people.  She is also one of the toughest, most dedicated athletes I have seen.  That combination might be what it takes to earn the starting quarterback job on the 2016 Chicago Bliss.
You can read my recap of the Bliss quarterback situation at Chicago Bliss Look to Kim Perez at Quarterback.  Here though, I want to share my somewhat insider's view on Kim.
Obviously I won't reveal personal information, but suffice it to say Kim travels a long distance just for practice.  By long, I mean hours!  She is that dedicated and it means that much to her.
I have talked to her at length over the years at practices and at games.  It sounds cliche, but I see the look in her eyes.  I feel it in her voice.
It takes more than dedication and passion though.  It takes ability and lots of hard work.  Kim has the ability and she does lots of hard work.  Kim has played many positions over the years and she plays them well.  She also practices hard every time.  You don't drive hours to dog it at practice, but I doubt Kim would dog it under any circumstance.
If you have seen Kim in previous years, you will notice a slightly different Kim this season.  She has added some muscle and more tone to her body.  Make no mistake, she was already in great shape, but she apparently did some extra work this offseason.
The rigorous practice schedule will determine if Kim or one of the rookies earns the starting nod.  Either way, Kim will have a place on this team.  Either way, I see her taking snaps before it is all over.
I know I am biased.  I don't care.  I have said some similar things about the newly retired Heather Furr (and other Bliss players).  It's all true though.  These women playing for the Bliss isn't happenstance.  They have earned their spot in Coach Keith Hac's organization.  If you can't hack it (no pun intended), you don't last with the Bliss.
I'm also a pretty good judge of people.  Kim Perez can quarterback my team anytime.  I would go into battle with this woman any day.

On the Beat with Kim Perez of the Chicago Bliss

We continue our coverage of the 2015 Chicago Bliss by taking a break from our "Meet the Rookies" series to focus on Kim Perez, a veteran of the two LFL titles won by the team.  The veteran wears #10 and plays safety and quarterback.
Playing quarterback on a team with the two-time LFL MVP, "Rockstar" Heather Furr entrenched in that position, cannot be easy.  During her time with the Bliss, Perez has certainly earned her time on the highlight reel.
In this video, we discuss her path to the Bliss, her athletic background and more.  Is it mere coincidence that the Bliss have won the LFL title ever season since she joined?  Also, don't let her calm demeanor fool you.  She is ready to hit some people on the field.
One of my fun memories was hanging around for a bit with Kim on the field prior to last season's championship game.  I am hoping I get the opportunity to hang with the team again at the 2015 Legends Cup.  I certainly will be hanging around the team all season as they go for the 3peat.
You can follow their progress here, as I present more interviews and game thoughts.  You can also go to LFLUS.com or the Chicago Bliss Facebook page to get more info and updates.
