Halloween with Kenny Powers (aka Mike Bellcaster)

I will conclude this Special Resistance Pro Halloween Week with Mike Bellcaster.  The Official Timekeeper and sometime Ring Announcer appeared as Kenny Powers at last year's RPro Halloween show.
It was a unique costume idea, from a unique person.  Mike is a jovial guy who bleeds RPro.  He is the master of custom figures (although I am still waiting for a Johngy figure).  With his wife Nicole at the Merchandise table and his newborn daughter Zoey as a future champ, Mike's future is bright.
I am happy for Mike, as he has worked hard for what he has achieved and he is living his passion.  Mike "gets" it.  (I just want to know what he must insist on calling me a mark at every available opportunity...nah, just kidding...it's pretty darn funny.)

On the Beat with Resistance Pro's "Practice What You Preach"

At last month's "Practice What You Preach," Resistance Pro put on another great night of wrestling.  We got a handful of interesting interviews, as well.
Eric St. Vaughn and Brady Pierce of Body Magic took home the tag team gold.  We have supported ESV from his debut and this interview was well worth the wait.  Cameos by various RPro people and assorted other fun, make this one of my favorite interviews of all time.
I have to give Special Correspondent Jonathan McMahon credit for nabbing D'Arcy Dixon, former RPro Women's champ.  D'Arcy has been rather elusive, but JMac got her or maybe she got him.  She really had himn squirming and that made this one of my favorite interviews, too.
The talent isn't the only thing of interest, however.  Some of the fans can be just as entertaining.  Such is the case with Dick Griffiths, aka Chain Male.
JMac was back on the beat with an update interview with Mike Bellcaster.  Since our last interview with Bellcaster, has has added "ring announcer" to his resume.  He has also added "dad," and we congratulate him and his lovely wife Nicole (aka the Merchandise Girl).
The next RPro show is "Rust in Peace," a Halloween themed night of fun.  Come out and join the gang on Saturday night.

On the Beat at Resistance Pro's "Don't Tread"

Last month's Resistance Pro's "Don't Tread" was another excellent show.  If you think I am just repeating myself, I challenge you to come to one of their shows and find out for yourself.  You will be saying the same thing, too.
It was another solid night for JohngysBeat.com, too, as we got several interesting interviews.  "Mr. M80" Marshe Rockett was getting shot at Jocephus Brody's title.  We talked to Marshe before his match and got his thoughts, along with the first look at his new shirt available for purchase.
After a year long absence (because of a "Loser leaves R Pro for a year" match with "The Ego" Robert Anthony), Mr. 450 returned and was looking for revenge.  We talked to him about what he had been doing and what his future holds.
Warden Myers is right in the middle of the action as always.  Two of his inmates were fighting for freedom, but one chose not to fight.  The Warden is never without a backup plan though.  He had two new men under his thumb, although he wouldn't reveal them during the interview.  (Johngy's Beat does give the reveal in it though.)
Chris Hall revealed his new shirt, but did not reveal his latest career path.  (Check back to the Warden's interview for a little clue.)
Just when I thought I was going to get that interview with Colonel Jesse Corgan, Timekeeper Mike Bellcaster stepped in and ousted me.  I have no idea where this is going, but I do not like it one bit.
Superfan and wrestling columnist Jonathan McMahon made his interview debut on both ends of the questions.  First, I interviewed him about his path to Resistance.  Then he took over the interview duties and got the latest scoop from Scotty Young.  Welcome to the JohngysBeat.com Universe, JMc and thank you.
That's a lot of action for a three hour show and that is just from my end.  The actual R Pro wrestling was even more entertaining.  Plus, I did not even mention the women of the Chicago Bliss who were there again.  Next show, I will have to get their opinions.
Speaking of the next show, it is this Friday, May 16.  "Savage Amusement" promises to be what the title proclaims.  Two days away and I can't wait..

Friendly Encounters: Mike and Nicole Bellcaster Meet Jim Ross

This is a weekly series featuring friends who have met celebrities.

Today I am featuring Mike and Nicole Bellcaster, a couple I met through Resistance Pro Wrestling.  Mike and Nicole started out as fans, but quickly worked their way into positions as the Official Timekeeper and the Merchandise Maven, respectively.
They are a young, fun couple, who love wrestling and R Pro.  They got married in a wrestling ring, surrounded by family and friends, including many members of the extended R Pro family.
The couple went to Las Vegas in 2012 for the Cauliflower Alley Club event.  There they met many wrestling personalities.  One that really stood out to me was Jim Ross (aka JR).
Ross is a wrestling legend for his broadcasting career.  JR made every match seem interesting, without going overboard.  He is the gold standard for wrestling broadcasters.
I like the juxtaposition of the Hall of Famer Ross with the young wrestling couple.  It is the old and the new, the merging of two generations.
I am proud to know Mike and Nicole and to call them friends.  They are two of the colorful, fun characters at Resistance Pro.  They are also proof that R Pro is more than just wrestling.  It is a big family of great people.

On the Beat with Mike Bellcaster at Resistance Pro's "Stick It To Ya"

This is a JohngysBeat.com first.  We feature an interview with an Official Timekeeper.  Wait, this isn't just any Official Timekeeper.  This is Mike Bellcaster of Resistance Pro Wrestling.
What makes that so special?  Well, I just wrote Bellcaster works for Resistance Pro.  That alone makes him special.  As I have written before, R Pro is the best wrestling promotion around.  Bellcaster is the Official Timekeeper for the best wrestling organization.
If that isn't enough, he is hard=working, staunchly loyal to R Pro and generally an all around funny guy.  As you will hear in the interview, Mike started as a fan (like I did) and he worked hard and eventually became Official Timekeeper.
Also, how appropriate is it that the man that rings the bell to start and end matches is named "Bell"caster?  It was like it was meant to be.
Bellcaster and his wife Nicole both work at R Pro.  They were also married in a wrestling ring and featured in The National Enquirer (only slightly less impressive than being featured on JohngysBeat.com).
I have had the pleasure of seeing Bellcaster's wrestling themed room in his house.  His figure collection and other fun stuff is quite impressive.  Clearly this man is a rabid R Pro fan.  Maybe if we are lucky, our next interview could be on location in that room.  Now that would be really special.
We hope you enjoy this unique interview with one of the non-wrestling people who make R Pro so special.  After you watch the interview, check out ResistancePro.com to learn all about this exciting wrestling company.  Also, follow Mike Bellcaster on twitter to keep up with JohngysBeat.com's favorite Official Timekeeper!
