Friend Encounters: Serenity and Tommy

Friend Encounters is a weekly series featuring friends meeting celebrities.

Today I feature two of my favorites from my time with Resistance Pro Wrestling. It is a great representation of the best part of RPro.
Shortly after RPro debited, I met and interviewed Tommy Else, who earned a spot in the company via an open audition. Tommy became Eric St. Vaughn. Tommy became a good friend and wrestler, but I maintain the name change by management was a mistake. That's a whole other story though.
Serenity became one of my favorites, too. Young Serenity had a nice blend of energy and cute. She was like your little sister. She was also tough in the ring. She wasn't a contender for the Women's title, but she could have made a good tag team member if they had tag titles.
Both Tommy and Serenity always gave me interviews. They understood how to market themselves. They knew any coverage was good and they were always willing. They also always gave great interviews, which is another reason why I kept going back to them.
Serenity eventually left wrestling. She seems to be doing well and is involved in frisbee competitions. I don't know why she left wrestling. I think she could have had a decent run. Maybe she was too small to win major titles, but in today's wrestling, she could have had a role.
As for Tommy, he left ESV behind and has wrestled very sporadically since. He is still a great physical trainer.
Looking back, Serenity or Else could have been a fun mixed tag team. Maybe have them feud with Ego Cruise (Robert Anthony and Melanie Cruise) lol.
The end of the original RPro wasn't pretty, but it doesn't take away from the good times. I never would have met these two fun folks.

Friendly Encounters: Ric Flair and Serenity

Friendly Encounters is a weekly series featuring friends who have met celebrities.

One of the first wrestlers I interviewed at Resistance Pro was Serenity.  Despite her serene ring name, this young talent was a bundle of energy as you can see in On the Beat With Serenity, one of our first interviews with her.
Serenity wrestled for several months at RPro and continued to hone her craft in downstate Illinois.  She was young and eager to learn and she was great with the young fans.  Who wouldn't like this bouncy, charismatic young lady?
I am willing to bet wrestling legend Ric Flair enjoyed meeting Serenity as much as she enjoyed meeting him.  I just love this picture.  Flair's career started about twenty years before Serenity was even born.  I love the juxtaposition of a wrestling Hall of Famer like Flair with the young, wrestling hopeful Serenity.  They are opposite ends of the spectrum, but both wrestling professionals.
Even for non-wrestlers, meeting Flair is like meeting wrestling royalty.  I am happy to say I have met Flair a few times.  I am also happy to say I have met Serenity a few times.

On the Beat (Again!!) with Serenity of Resistance Pro Wrestling

Yesterday, we ran a "lost" interview with Serenity from Resistance Pro Wrestling's "Obsession".  Thanks again to her for reminding us.  Today, we are featuring our latest interview from "A Small Deadly Space".
Of course, we got an update from her on her activities since last month, but we also veered off wrestling and she gave us a little glimpse of herself outside of the ring.
What she might lack in experience, she makes up for in determination.  She is still young, but she is wrestling anywhere she can to hone her skills and become a major player.  She is determined and energetic.
We really enjoy talking to Serenity.  We very much appreciate her willingness to give us a bit of her time.  We think she has a bright future (even brighter than her signature pink and purple hair).
After you watch the interview below, check out ResistancePro.com to learn all about this great new wrestling company.  Also, please be sure to check out ScreamnSerenity on twitter and the Serenity Facebook page.  Also, be sure to click on over at ResistancePro.com to learn all about this exciting new wrestling company.

Serenity: The Lost Interview

At the recent Resistance Pro Wrestling event, "A Deadly Small Space", we talked to one of our regulars, Serenity.  On the way to the interview area, Serenity and I engaged in a friendly debate about her last interview with us, which ran in April.  Or did it?
Serenity asked where it was.  I (foolishly) assured her it was on this site somewhere shortly after the last event.  I should have known better than to argue with this pink and purple haired dynamo.
So before I run the newest interview with Serenity, I want to run the "lost" Serenity interview.  Her voice needs to be heard and we want to bring it to you.
Before I run the lost interview though, I want to apologize for missing this.  I don't know how it happened, but it did.  I will have to talk to our technical department here at Johngy's Beat.  We really appreciate every time anyone takes time to talk to us.  The talent at R Pro is always great, despite being super busy at the events.  And Serenity...what can I say...she is always ready to talk to us and we love her for it.
After you watch the interview below, check out ResistancePro.com to learn all about this great new wrestling company.  Also, please be sure to check out ScreamnSerenity on twitter and the Serenity Facebook page.  Check back here tomorrow for the newest interview with Serenity (no, we did not lose it this time!).
Now, without further adieu, here is the lost interview with Serenity from April.

An Evening of Serenity

I first met Serenity when we interviewed her after the first Resistance Pro Wrestling event in December 2011.  She had a grueling match earlier in the evening and it was dark and loud as we talked, but Serenity was so full of energy and life.  We really appreciated her time and we became instant fans.
Although she just turned 21, Serenity wrestles like a ring veteran.  Outside the ring, she exudes youthful energy, while also appearing to possess a maturity not often seen at her age.  Serenity has a bright future and am happy to be covering her as her career starts to blossom.
Last Friday, we had the pleasure of watching her defeat Taylor Made in an exciting battle.  The match was well-paced, showcasing both wrestlers' athleticism and technique.  Serenity really shined though.
We talked to Serenity again before the match.  That interview will be here in the near future.  For now, we hope you enjoyed the action shots, as well as a video of Serenity's entrance.
Please be sure to check out Serenity's Facebook page for more great pictures and all of her updates and follow ScreamnSerenity on twitter.  Also, head over to ResistancePro.com to learn more about Serenity and the rest of the talented crew at R Pro!

Good Luck to Serenity Tonight!

Serenity (aka Bree Bruce) is wrestling for the Resistance tonight and PCW tomorrow.  I am hoping to catch both matches.
Serenity just turned 21, but is a veteran of almost four years inside the ring.  I was very impressed with her ability in the ring and her poise outside of the ring.  Serenity represents the best of women's wrestling.  She is hard-working, athletic, charismatic and cute.  If Serenity continues on her path, I see big things for her.
Serenity and all of the excellent women of R-Pro are great reasons to go see Resistance Pro Wrestling.
My only real question is when Serenity hits the big time, will she remember us little guys at Johngy's Beat!

On the Beat with Serenity

One of the youngest stars of Resistance Pro Wrestling is Serenity.  The soon-to-be 21 year old already is almost a four year veteran of the squared circle.
As you will hear in the interview below, Serenity is known for her vibrant colors. The bright hues are not the only reason she stands out though.
She is a tenacious competitor, with an obvious passion and dedication for her craft.  Her tough demeanor is balanced by her big smile and exuberance.
On her twitter page, Serenity describes herself as "pretty rad".  You have to love that.  Just like you have to love the pink and purple hair.
In the interview below, Matt Parker (Johngy's Beat Executive Producer) talks to Serenity about her colors, her influences and her career.  I love Serenity's thoughts on why she got into the business.  It is such a sincere thought.  I applaud her attitude.
I wish the lighting was better, because you really need to see the spark in her eyes to get the total picture of Serenity.  I am predicting big things for this talented young wrestler.
Ar Rise, Serenity lost by pinfall to champion Melanie Cruise.  Although it was a disappointment, Serenity remains optimistic and is still in the title hunt.  Serenity should get another shot down the line and she will be ready.
