Friend Encounters: Kevin Rahm and Troy G.

Friend Encounters is a weekly series featuring friends meeting celebrities.

Today is a royal Friend Encounters. Actually, it is a Royals Friend Encounter.

My media pal Troy is a co-host on The Geary, Stein & Stevens Show. Obviously ensconced in the world of entertainment, sports and celebrities, Troy has taken it off the airwaves into real outside life.

Last year, Troy was involved in the Big Slick softball weekend at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. It's a huge charity event which has raised a huge amount of money for charity. Several Kansas City celebrities are involved, but many others join the cause. One such celebrity is Kevin Rahm.

A native of Texas, Rahm has been in the entertainment industry for more than 30 years. He co-starred on such tv hits as Desperate Housewives, Mad Men and Judging Amy. I don't know if Rahm got a hit in the game or even if he played. I do know he was a hit though.

This is such a fun event. Some day I hope to make it out. Dare I dream to even be involved in the game?

Friend Encounters: Kevin Rahm and Troy G.

Friend Encounters is a weekly series featuring friends meeting celebrities.

Troy G. is a media friend, who is a part of the Geary Stein & Stevens Show podcast. Last year, he covered the Big Slick Kansas City Celebrity Softball weekend and met a bunch of stars and athletes.

In 2010, Rob Riggle, Paul Rudd and Jason Sudeikis came together with an idea. Fifteen years later, Big Slick is growing bigger and better every year. It has raised more than $21 million for Children's Mercy. This May 30-31, it will add to that total.

Check out BigSlickKC.org for ore info. Also follow Troy on The Geary Stein & Stevens Show.

Friend Encounters: Ariel Winter and Luke Benward and Troy G.

Friend Encounters is a weekly series featuring friends meeting celebrities.

Here's my social media buddy Troy G. again, hobnobbing with celebrities while repping the Kansas City Royals. It's a tough job, Troy!

Actually, Troy does have a tough job and he does it well. In this overcrowded media space, Troy has carved a nice niche for himself. As part of The Geary Stein & Stevens Show, Troy covers the worlds of sports and entertainment.

The Big Slick charity softball event in Kansas City is one major event Troy covered. It's a wonderful and fun event featuring actors, athletes and other celebrities playing football with other events at Kauffman Stadium. As seen below, actress Ariel Winter and actor Luke Benward were two of the celebs in attendance. Like me, Troy took the opportunity ro get a selfie.

I applaud Troy for putting the spotlight on this wonderful event. I applaud the celebs for giving their time. I hope to be there one day.

For more info on Troy, go to The Geary Stein & Stevens Show. Also, check BigSlickKC.org for more info on this great organization and event.

Friend Encounters: Dylan Baker and Troy G.

Friend Encounters is a weekly series featuring friends meeting celebrities.

Big Slick Celebrity Weekend in Kansas City is a charity softball event featuring many athletes and celebrities. Last year, Troy attended, making me even more envious of my pal.

Troy is a media guy from The Geary Stein & Stevens Show, among other endeavors. Actually, Troy is all over the place, covering big events and meeting celebrities. Big Slick is just one of those events, although it is a big one.

Held in Kansas City, it attracts many celebrities from all areas and entertainment fields. Actor Dylan Baker was just one of the dozens who appeared this year.

Stemming from an idea developed by Rob Riggle, Paul Rudd and Jason Sudeikis in 2010, Big Slick debuted several weeks later. Over the years, it raised millions of dollars for Children's Mercy. While it is a fun event, the cause is a serious one. I applaud all involved.

Friend Encounters: Heidi Gardner and Troy

Friend Encounters is a weekly series featuring friends meeting celebrities.

I don't know how or when I became FB friends with Troy. G., but it has been fun following his adventures. Through his career, he has worked with and met many celebrities, including Heidi Gardner as seen below.

Troy is one of the stars of the Geary Stein & Stevens Show. It's a fun podcast. He also participated in the Big Slick charity softball weekend earlier this year.

Held at Kaufman Stadium in Kansas City, the Big Slick charity softball weekend raises money for Children's Mercy. It features actors, musicians, other celebrities and several pro athletes. I hope to attend the weekend next year.

For more info on the weekend, go to bigslickkc.org. Also, check Troy's work on the Geary Stein & Stevens Show.

Friend Encounters: Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas and Troy

Friend Encounters is a weekly series featuring friends meeting celebrities.

I don't think I have featured my friend Troy here yet. If I have, it's been a while. Either way, it is long overdue.

Troy co-hosts The Geary Stein & Stevens Show among other entertainment endeavors. It's a fun sports and entertainment podcast, but you can get more info on it at The Geary Stein and Stevens Facebook page.

Today it's about his connection to Big Slick. With a goal of raising funds for Children's Mercy, Rob Riggle, Jason Sudeikis and Paul Rudd started the Big Slick Celebrity Weekend in 2010. Over the years, a celebrity softball game at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri was added. All told, Big Slick has raised more than $21 million.

Troy participated in the weekend this year. Donning a Kansas City Royals jersey, Troy got to be on the field with celebrities and athletes, like former Royals players Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas. More importantly, he was part of the fundraising effort.

As cool as it would be to be on the field, I am even more impressed with the work they do for Children's Mercy. Wanting to be a part of it, I have already contacted the folks at Big Slick and plan on being there next year.
