Eric St. Vaughn Joins Johngy's Beat for Kicks For a Cure

JohngysBeat.com has previously teamed several times with Eric St. Vaughn of Resistance Pro Wrestling.  In fact, JohngysBeat.com is a proud sponsor of the talented, rising star.  This Saturday, ESV and JohngysBeat will once again team, as they provide coverage of Kicks For a Cure, the world's largest kickball tournament.

The ESV-Johngy pairing has the possibility of becoming one of the all-time great media duos, like Siskel and Ebert, Regis and Kelly or Statler and Waldorf.  Each brings a tremendous fan following.  Chants of ESV" echo throughout every place St. Vaughn wrestles, while JohngysBeat.com shirts are seemingly everywhere.

More important that the actual ESV-Johngy combo is what they are covering.  Kicks for a Cure raises money to help fight cancer and support Receptions for Research, the Foundation started by former Chicago Bears and current Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen.  Olsen's mother survived her battle with cancer.

The work that is done by all involved is incredible.  I have been part of smaller similar events and I can vouch for the effort required.  Sure, on Saturday, thousands of spectators and teams of kickballers will have a great time and rightly so, but none of that is possible without the tireless efforts of all involved.

ESV and Johngy intend to bring many and varied stories, including inspiration, humor and everything in between.  We will have videos and pictures.  When you get a power team of ESV and Johngy, you get much more than a skimming of the highlights.  As Rob Van Dam (one of ESV's wrestling idols) says, you get "the whole show."

I encourage everyone to come out and enjoy a day in Grant Park.  What else is better than a huge kickball tournament to help cancer with random appearances by ESV and Johngy?

C Red Kicks for a Cure

At Resistance Pro Wrestling, C Red calls the action with Zach Thompson.  He also gets involved in the action by managing the tag team known as Da Soul Touchaz.  C Red is very entertaining in either role.  This Saturday, June 29, C Red will be in another role, that as a kickballer.  More precisely, he will be one of thousands who will be supporting Kicks For a Cure.
Kicks for A Cure is an annual kickball tournament held each summer at Grant Park in Chicago.  Kickball teams compete and raise money to help fight cancer and support Receptions for Research, the Foundation started by former Chicago Bears and current Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen.  Olsen's mother survived her battle with cancer.
C Red will be participating on a team with other R Pro stars including Barry Ryte and Ashton Vuitton.  His excitement about Kicks For a Cure was evident when he told me, "I'm involved because I know this is a great cause. Helping people is something that I feel strongly about and raising money is one way to help. I hope others will support Resistance Pro, the Chicago Bears, Greg Olsen and donate to this cause! I'm proud that I can help out for a great fun day!"
I have met C Red many times and have always been entertained by him.  Saturday, I will see him once again.  I am sure I will be entertained, but I will also be very proud to know him and to help promote and cover this great event.

Barry Ryte Kicks for a Cure

When I met Barry Ryte about a year ago, I was very happy to score the On the Beat with Barry Ryte interview with him.  Ryte had wrestled a bit in the WWE as Dan Barone.  More importantly, Ryte was back in the ring after battling cancer.  This Saturday, I will once again see Ryte and he will once again be battling cancer, but in a very different way.
On Saturday, June 29, Ryte will be part of a team taking part in the Kicks for a Cure event in Grant Park in downtown Chicago.  The teams will participate in a kickball tournament to help raise money to help fight cancer and support Receptions for Research - the Greg Olsen Foundation.
Kicks for a Cure is the world's largest charity kickball tournament.  There are a few organizations behind Kicks for a Cure, including Receptions for Research - The Greg Olsen Foundation, TMC and C.H. Robinson, but there will also be over 1,200 participants, fans, volunteers and me.
Currently with the Carolina Panthers, Greg Olsen founded Receptions for Research in 2009 to honor his mother, who is a cancer survivor.  The stated goal is "to provide hospitals, doctors and scholars the resources necessary to enhance the lives of those affected by various forms of cancer and cardiovascular diseases or disorders."
While the former Bear Olsen honors his mother, Ryte has similar selfless motives.  Ryte told me, "Being once sick with cancer I realized how much more people are affected by certain illness and disease. This past night I ran a mile for the cure and now I am happy to be a part of Kicks for a Cure.  I was chosen to help represent Resistance Pro Wrestling on that day."
A better choice could not have been made.
I will be at Kick for a Cure to get pictures, interviews, stories and coverage.  I will also be there to cheer on Ryte and all others who are helping to make a difference with Kicks for a Cure!  I hope you join me in attendance.
