Talking Travel with Melissa Archer

Melissa Archer burst onto the daytime drama scene in 2001. Just a few years removed from her first role at the age of 17, Melissa joined a cast of veterans on One Life to Live, but quickly made her mark. Not only did she stay with OLTL through its final episode in 2013, she remained a major character for her time there.

Several years ago, I met Melissa at a television celebrity convention. She was kind enough to give me a short interview and do a promo for my site (see left column).

I have followed her online for a long time. She always is interesting on social media, but the last year or so really caught my attention. Along with her positive messages, Melissa started posting about her move to van life. More recently, she unveiled her new product line, "It is better to wander than to wonder." 

I thought this was the perfect time to ask for an interview. She has a new perspective on life and travel. I figured she would bring an interesting take on travel to my Talking Travel interview series on Global Traveler...and she did! 

After a brief discussion of her time on OLTL, Melissa eagerly gave me all the info on her new van life. From a germ of an idea to buying and converting a van, Melissa gives all the details.

Her other new venture came from a random phrase she said, but found interesting enough to remember and eventually turn into a product line. Melissa discusses what exactly "It i better to wander" means to her. While on the surface it completely fits a travel mind-set, it really applies to everything in life. It also fits perfectly with Melissa's positive spirit.

I thoroughly enjoyed this interview. Melissa is a special person. I don't just preach about her,; I also support her by purchasing a tshirt and I look forward to more shirts (although she already has other products, like mugs, etc.).

Melissa Archer Shout Out to Johngy's Beat

I have followed actress Melissa Archer's career for more than 20 years. I even had the pleasure of interviewing her at a convention a few years ago. That interview is at On the Beat With Melissa Archer.

Melissa has remained active in all sorts of projects. Now in her early 40s, Melissa is as bueatiful as ever. More importantly, she is a real sweetheart.

Over the years, she has sent a few shout outs (see column on the left). Most recently, she sent another.

Melissa Archer Loves Johngy's Beat (Again)

Melissa Archer burst on to the scene on tv's One Life To Live in 2001. She stayed on the show until it was cancelled in 2011. She has remained busy since, appearing on Days of Our Lives, as well as other episodic shows and movies.

A few years back, I had the pleasure of meeting Melissa and interviewing her at a convention. That interviews was a lot of fun and can be found at On the Beat With Melissa Archer. She was kind enough then to do a promo video for Johngy's Beat, which is in the Testimonial Videos column on the left.

At REWind Con, after our interview with Melissa Archer, we was kind enough to do a quick promo for us.  That promo is below and also in the left column.

I really appreciate it when anyone does a promo for us.  They get nothing from it, but a little extra exposure and my gratitude.  In other words, it is just a selfless, kind act for them to do it for me.

Getting Melissa to do a promo for Johngy's Beat is extra cool, because I am a big fan of hers.  It's just a little extra connection.  The interviews are fun and awesome, but the promo is timeless.

On The Beat With Melissa Archer At REWind Con 2016

I have been a fan of Melissa Archer since she joined One Life To Life back in 2001.  I was impressed that at the age of 22, she joined OLTL and made such an impact.  Of course, her stunning good looks caught my eye, too.

REWind Con's announcement of Melissa joining their celebrity guest list was what initially sparked my interest in the event.  Like many of REWind Con's guests, Melissa doesn't do many celebrity cons.  I wasn't going to miss this one.

When Jack and I arrived, we immediately went to Melissa and asked for an interview.  She agreed and the result is below.  We talked about where her OLTL character Natalie would be now.  She answered and actually developed quite a little story behind it.

We also talked about her starting out on OLTL at such a young age and fitting in with the veterans.  Finally, we got some news on her latest projects.

I have to say, Melissa was stunning in person, but besides her appearance, she was sweet and funny.  She was the perfect interview guest and the perfect convention guest.

Friendly Encounters

This is a weekly feature highlighting friends who have met celebs.

A while back I was doing research for my online blog for Global Traveler magazine and I came across Myra Segal Morehouse's pictures with some daytime drama stars. Myra recently responded and gave me the story, which she has agreed to share here, too.
Myra attended the fan club luncheon in New York in 2008 and 2009. In 2008, Myra won the lunch raffle and had her picture taken with the One Life to Live star of her choice, which was published in Soaps in Depth, Myra chose John Brotherton who plays Jared Banks.
Myra describes John as a "wonderful and friendly individual". She added that co-star Melissa Archer is "beautiful and friendly, too".
I love the picture below. How can you not? Myra looks like she is having a blast surrounded by the two OLTL stars. This is the real essence of Friendly Encounters. I love it and appreciate Myra sharing this here. Myra has a few others which will be featured here in the future. We'll see a few other OLTL stars and Myra is again all smiles!
